Hoodoos:
Breathtaking and beautiful, this is one trail you'd be silly to pass up. We are located only a short jaunt from Emerson Lakes (8 kilometers) and 9 kilometers from Wild Sculpture Trail. Along the way are the naturally formed sculptures of sandstone known as Hoodoos. These Hoodoos are unique to Alberta.
Skiing:
Cross-country
Hornbeck Cross Country Ski area and the Athabasca Nordic Lookout Center are two favorites. The Athabasca Nordic Lookout Center has over 2,400 acres and boasts world-class trails that are up to 10 meters in width and anywhere from 1 ½ kilometers to 25 kilometers long. This recently designated provincial recreation area hosts a number of events as it includes a biathlon range, two large training grids, a telemark hill, small ski jump, two shelters and 1 ½ kilometers luge run.
Downhill skiers can enjoy the Silver Summit Ski Resort which is a mere 38 kilometers from the Best Western High Road Inn or the Rocky Mountain slopes of Marmot Basin in Jasper National Park.
