Located one mile from the Best Western San Marcos Inn is Morro bay State Park, a must for bird watchers as it is part of a National Bird Sanctuary. In the park you will find the Morro Bay Natural History Museum and the Morro Bay Golf course. Montana De Oro State Park is a beautiful drive along the bay, just fifteen minutes away. The Paso Robles wine country, with many wineries offering tasting rooms, begins only twenty miles away. Hearst Castle at San Simeon State historical Monument is an easy twenty eight mile drive up scenic Highway 1.
