A menu of eclectic, contemporary food served in an intimate atmosphere with polished service. Take full advantage of the nicely balanced wine list and excellent price value. Open for you dining pleasure for dinner Tuesday through Saturday, 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and for lunch Wednesday through Friday 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m. Chez Catherine is a non-smoking restaurant, with reservations and proper attire required.
Chez Catherine is graciously operated by its owners, Catherine Alexandrou-Bourdeaux and Michel Bordeaux. A husband and wife team of culinary notoriety, Catherine and Michel have won favor with Zagat as offering "great classic French food plus lovely service." Michel is president of the Vatel Club and a member of the international Maitre Cuisinier De France. Catherine is the first woman inducted in the Academie Culinaire de France and a member of the prestigious Le Dames D'Escoffier. Together their talents create an experience that is "polished and surefooted, without a trace of stuffiness."

We also thought hotel food meant blah food - rubber chicken serviced in the ballroom; weak, tepid coffee from room service. Whenever we checked in, we check out the restaurant down the street with the concierge. But now that so many hoteliers are doubling their efforts to attract locals to their restaurants, hotels may have the nicest dining rooms in town. After all, who else can afford to carpet a vast floor in two-inch plush stock a cellar with wine and hire a roomful of tuxedoed gentlemen to serve it? The four hotels we visited make great places to celebrate an anniversary or take an important client - or have a special night out.
