From our delightful inn, you can easily explore a wide variety of points of interest and activities on the North Shore such as the Gunflint Trail, Isle Royale, Ground Portage Monument and Casino, the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Lutsen Mountain and Artist Point. You can hike to an inland waterfall, go deep water fishing or sailing on Lake Superior, or check out one of the smaller inland lakes up the Gunflint Trail. Winter guests have direct access from the inn to the North Shore Corridor snowmobile trail system. We have maps at the front desk. Or, you can snowshoe and cross-country ski Cook County's unspoiled wilderness areas including, Lutsen Mountain, Minnesota's finest downhill ski area. The John Beargrease Dog Sled Race is run each year in mid-January.
